It opens into a structured tray with elastic loops and mesh pockets that hold each item in place and on show, and includes a small magnetic-close cable pouch and a removable card holder so the fiddliest pieces stay contained. The shell is Bellroy's recycled woven fabric with a plant-based leather-alternative trim, structured enough to stand open on a desk yet slim enough to slip into a bag. It is sized for a considered daily kit rather than a photographer's drawer of gear. It suits the commuter or light traveller who wants a slim, tidy home for everyday tech, and accepts that its neat capacity fills quickly if the kit grows.
Design intent
- The defining decision is restraint over capacity: a slim, flat tray with fixed loops and a dedicated cable pouch organises a small, considered everyday kit rather than trying to swallow a large one, which is what keeps it pocketable where accordion pouches are bulky.
- The details target the specific offenders: a magnetic-close pouch corrals loose cables and a removable holder keeps memory or SIM cards from vanishing, so the smallest, most losable items each get a defined place rather than floating in one compartment.
Trade-offs
- Its slim, structured form has real limits: a growing kit of chargers and adapters outgrows the loops and pockets quickly, so it rewards a disciplined selection rather than carrying everything.
- The structure that lets it stand open and protect its contents adds a little bulk and cost over a soft zip bag, and the premium materials mean you pay for finish as much as for function.
