The SKOGSVIKEN is an over-door hook in powder-coated steel, sold in a pack of two. It hangs over the top edge of a door with no drilling and no marks, which makes it the right answer for rentals, temporary setups, or anywhere fixing into the wall is undesirable. A genuinely clever detail: it is reversible, with two differently sized ends so the same hook fits a thinner or a thicker door depending on which way up you hang it. The arm holds a coat, bag, towel or robe clear of the door face. It costs less than a coffee and is entirely resolved for what it is, with the usual honest limit of any painted contact surface: the finish where it meets the door edge will wear with daily use.
Design intent
- Hanging over the door edge needs no fixings and leaves no marks, the correct solution where drilling is unavailable or unwanted.
- Two differently sized ends make the hook reversible to fit a thin or a thick door, solving the fit problem most over-door hooks ignore.
Trade-offs
- Each hook is a single point, so several regular items need several hooks; it holds, it does not organise.
- The powder coat on the door-contact edge wears to bare steel over time with daily use, the predictable limit of a painted hook.
