The 32oz Wide Mouth Sustain is the standard Nalgene bottle with one change: it is moulded from Tritan Renew, a copolyester whose content is 50% waste plastic diverted through chemical recycling. Everything else is the bottle people already know, a straight-sided cylinder with a 63mm wide mouth that takes most inline water filters and ice, a leakproof threaded cap tethered to the body, graduated markings up the side, 177 grams empty, dishwasher-safe and made in the USA. It is honest about the fact that the Sustain neither looks nor performs any differently from the original: chemical recycling preserves the properties of virgin Tritan, so the material is the only difference, and that is the point. It is backed by a lifetime warranty.

Design intent

The 63mm wide mouth is a deliberate compatibility decision, accepting most inline filtration devices directly, which matters wherever tap water cannot be trusted.
Tritan Renew at 50% recycled content uses chemical rather than mechanical recycling, so the material keeps virgin Tritan's strength while cutting fossil input; the bottle performs identically to the original.

Trade-offs

At 177 grams it is heavier than ultralight bottles; it trades packweight for durability and filter compatibility, and gram-counters will look elsewhere.
The single-wall cylinder is uninsulated and sweats in humid heat; it is built for toughness and easy cleaning, not temperature retention.
