The Travel Backpack 45L is Peak Design's one-bag carry-on, built around a single idea: no two trips are the same. A compression system takes it from 30 litres as a daypack to 45 as a full carry-on, and three access points, a rear clamshell plus two side panels, let you reach any item without unpacking the rest. It is made from a dense 100% recycled 400D nylon canvas with a reinforced base and proprietary weatherproof zippers, and the straps stow completely so it presents as luggage at check-in. Design intent

Trade-offs
- -The dense recycled canvas and full feature set make it heavy for its class at around 2kg empty, which eats into strict airline weight limits, and most of the expanded volume sits in depth rather than height, which is not ideal for carrying comfort under load.
- -Its harness is tuned for airports, taxis and hotels rather than long periods on the back, so travellers who hike or hostel for hours will find more comfortable suspensions elsewhere, and the modular cubes that unlock its organisation are a further cost on top of an already premium bag.
