Analogue by design

Analogue by design describes how these products behave, not what they are made of. Each one does a single thing, with a stable, visible interface and no secondary pathway: no notifications, no menus, nothing pulling you elsewhere. Most are analogue — mechanical watches, paper notebooks, a vinyl turntable. A few are digital, like a Casio watch, an e-ink tablet, or a minimal phone, but they are built around the same constraint. The discipline is the point, not the medium.
